The DR-J503-1 Mattress Rollator Durability Tester is purpose-built for ASTM F1566 Section 7 — the “Toss and Turn” test that mattress manufacturers use to validate how well their products hold up under years of body movement. A 240-lb (109 kg) hexagonal wooden roller traverses the mattress surface at a programmable stroke and speed, applying rolling shear stress, surface abrasion, and distributed fatigue that a static plunger test simply cannot replicate.
Unlike the Cornell test — which measures point-load firmness retention — the Rollator test evaluates full-surface structural integrity. Foam delamination, quilting breakdown, edge collapse, and cover fabric abrasion all reveal themselves after 200,000 passes of a 240-pound roller.
